Additional support for healing

Supplements

A whole food diet should always be our first source of nutrition.
Supplements can complement a healthy diet
where extra support is needed.

Supplementation for Health & Wellness

Why supplementation?

Food should always be the foundation of good nutrition, but nutritional supplements can help support specific needs, including immune function, cellular health and overall wellness.

During my healing journey, I chose each of the supplements below for a specific reason.
Some support nutritional status, inflammation, antioxidant defences and immune health, while others contain natural compounds that have been studied for their potential role in biological pathways relevant to cancer.

Below, I share why I chose each supplement during my colon cancer journey.

Berberine

Berberine may help target cancer stem cells involved in tumour growth and recurrence, while also promoting cell-cycle arrest and apoptosis. It may also support healthy blood glucose and lipid levels.

Black Cumin Oil

Targets cancer stem cells, may reduce invasion/metastasis, and may inhibit angiogenesis (the biological process by which new blood vessels form in a tumor).

CoEnzyme Q10

CoQ10 acts as an antioxidant, helping protect cells from free-radical damage while also helping the body regulate inflammation and protect tissues from damage. CoQ10 may also boost the body’s immune function.

Curcumin with Piperine

Curcumin blocks vital growth signals, stopping tumors from building new blood vessels, and forcing damaged cancer cells to self-destruct. Piperine can boost the absorption and bioavailability of curcumin by up to 2,000%.

EGCG

EGCG, the main polyphenol in green tea, fights cancer by stopping cell growth, reducing inflammation, and triggering programmed cell death in cancer cells.  It also prevents tumors from growing new blood vessels.

Fulvic Acid

Fulvic Acid binds to heavy metals, supports liver detoxification, and supports the gut barrier.  It also enhances nutrient absorption, lowers inflammation, and boosts immune function.

Moringa

Moringa helps force cancer cells into programmed cell death (apoptosis), particularly in breast, liver, colon, and pancreatic cancer cell lines.  It help slow  the rapid proliferation and spread of cancer cells.

Omega-3

Omega-3 fatty acids act as powerful antioxidants that help remove reactive oxygen species and suppress inflammatory pathways.
